Whew! I’m finally catching up on some more sneak peeks, and I am especially excited to share this one with you!
I have known Amie for half of my life now (wow–that makes me feel old!). Years ago we met, both tentative and praying for a friend, and I am so grateful that God brought our paths together. Since then our paths have sometimes winded away from one another but somehow manage to keep criss-crossing back together, and I am blessed to call her friend.
Amie and her husband are preparing to head off on their biggest adventure yet as they depart at the end of the year for Africa to minister and help with water purification in one of the most unstable areas of the world, but first they are settling into life with a newborn as they add another baby to their nest!
When Amie invited me to photograph her birth, I was nervous but excited. Babies, and in particular births, are a subject that I have a particular interest in. To be there when they welcomed their little guy to the world was such a privilege… the arrival of a new baby is such an indescribably special time, and there are moments in those first few hours that feel sacred. The love I feel in these images and that enveloped this new little life in his first few hours makes this an unforgettable experience for me (note: click on collage for enlarged view).Image may be NSFW.
