It’s time for the March 10-on-10! You know the drill: 10 pictures taken over 10 hours on the 10th of the month.  I was dismayed to see that the 10th started out with quite the downpour–not quite the perfect weather for a 10-on-10 day! Nevertheless, we determined to make the best of it, and we did!

This month you get a peek into one of our family’s favorite rituals: our Seattle day trips to enjoy Pike Place Market and other sites, and of course, we indulge in lots of great food! We started the day early by loading up the car for the hour-long drive into the city. There, it was a quiet day at the market. It was so grey and rainy that the inside of the market also took on a dark tone, and it’s really too bad there isn’t “smell-o-web”–the market is quite an odiferous place! Fresh fruits, flower vendors, and of course, lots and lots of seafood all meld together to create a not-altogether-pleasant smell. It’s a bit much for me.

We had a small snack at Beecher’s Cheese, one of our regular favorites, where we all split a small mac and cheese. They say it’s the “world’s best,” and they may be right. From there, we sought out a few new “touristy” things before ending our city excursion later with a pit stop at one of our favorite food trucks, the Marination Mobile. With such a full day, the kids were more than ready to crash at home; I think they are “homebodies” like their mama. A little time away is fine, but then this introvert needs some recharging time!

My lil guy was more than ready for a Seattle adventure! He is always ready to take on the world.

we can’t forget G, ready to brave the elements in her pink coat.

of course, no montage of the market is complete with the famous sign

a rare photo of me and all 3 kids! Thanks, honey!

Beecher’s Mac and Cheese–yum!

Seattle gum wall

we made it our mission to search out the famous Seattle gum wall. In G’s words, “That’s bee-sgusting (disgusting).” I assure you, it is indeed.

After a quick stop at my hubby’s favorite Seattle destination, the flagship REI store, we spied the Marination Mobile only a couple blocks away. Time for lunch! (iPhone photo)

photo of tacos

bonus iPhone pic, but you just have to see these tacos… so delicious! The whole family loves the Marination Mobile!

Back at home, the kids were worn out by our adventure!

But one child is still on the move… the baby never rests! He is keeping mama on her toes!

We are thrilled this month to have a truly international edition of our 10-on-10.   Guest writer Martin Giles joins us all the way from Sweden for his first 10-on-10, and regulars Beth in Oregon and Amy in Las Vegas are back again. Please visit them all and leave some comment love!
